Theater “KELT”

To celebrate the 25 years of friendship between Kazakhstan and the United States of America the U.S. Mission to Kazakhstan, KIMEP University, and KIMEP's English Language Theater "KELT" announce the launch of the English Language Theater Caravan – a theater tour that took Kazakhstani and American performers across Kazakhstan.

From July 6 to August 6, KELT performed in five cities: Almaty, Shymkent, Atyrau, Pavlodar and Oskemen
KELT was founded in 2001 and is Kazakhstan's premier English language theater. It has received wide acclaim for its ongoing productions. The goals of the project are to promote English language education, help establish English-language programs in the regions, and share KELT's experience in teaching English through art.
English Language Theatre (KELT) was in the AC Oskemen, as part of their Summer Tour across Kazakhstan. KELT performed Playback theater. Playback is improvisational theater where we hear your life experiences and play them back to you! The audience told us their story and watched how their memories come to life through improve, music and just a little bit of magic.
We hope that the tour will support the exchange of American and Kazakhstani cultures, and give local communities and theater groups the tools to start their own English language theater/arts programs throughout the region.
