On April 1 at 15:00 o'clock students of colleges and higher education institutions of the city meet the most titled boxer of Kazakhstan Serik Sapiyev in the assembly hall of our library. Serik Zhumangaliyevich Sapiyev is an Olympic champion of 2012, the Honoured Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan was born in the city of Abay of the Karaganda region, has graduated from the Karaganda state university of E. A. Buketov

He is an owner of medals and prizes of many large tournaments: two-time world champion (2005, 2007), two-time champion of Asia (2007, 2009), silver prize-winner of the World Cup (2011), bronze prize-winner of the World Cup (2009), winner of Asian games (2010), participant of the Summer Olympic Games of 2008 in Beijing. 

In 2012 in London Serik Zhumangaliyevich became the Olympic champion in category to 69 kg. also I have received Vel Barker's Cup — a prize which is awarded to the most technical boxer of the Olympic Games from 1936 to today. Sapiyev was already the third representative of Kazakhstan who has been given this prestigious award after Olympic champions Vasily Zhirov (1996) and Bakhtiar of Artayev (2004)

Meeting in library named after A.S.Pushkin will take place in a format of conversation with the famous athlete. Athletes of the city, pupils of schools are invited. Free admission. Welcome!
