Competition of speakers "Voice of Freedom"

On May 12 at 15.00 in the Conference Hall of our library there was a youth trilingual contest of oratorical skills "Voice of Freedom". The contest was held within the framework of the republican cultural project "The Trinity of Languages", in honor of the 100th anniversary of the national-democratic movement "Alash" and within the framework of the action "One country is one book".
Participants of the Competition - students of schools and students of colleges and universities - had to rearrange the verbal trilingual speech on the topic "The Voice of Freedom. Sultanmakhmut Toraigyrov ». Trilingual could be presented in different variations at the discretion of the participants. The jury consisted of: Meruert Nurzhanovna Zhailibayeva, philologist-Kazakh expert, specialist of reference and bibliographic service of the East Kazakhstan Regional Library named after А.S. Pushkin,
Lucia I. Abdullina, Ph.D. in Philology, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Journalism and Social Sciences of the East Kazakhstan State University named after Sarsen Amanzholov, Tatyana Andreevna Kolesnikova, Senior Lecturer, Department of Foreign Languages, East Kazakhstan State Technical University named after Daulet Serikbayev.
Winners of the Competition were defined in two age groups: 13-16 years, 17-22 years on the sum of points scored. Criteria for assessing participants' statements consisted of several components: the content of the speech, speech skills and language. In addition to oratory, participants had to be resourceful in answering the questions of spectators and jury members.
As a result, the prize places were distributed as follows. The only first place was unconditionally awarded to Yana Portnova (secondary school No. 19, 10th grade). Next, the jury determined two second and two third places. They were occupied by:
2nd place - Ayim Каbitkanova (Nazarbayev Intellectual School, 9th grade);
2nd place - Gasyrbek Kazes (lyceum No. 44 named after Oralhan Bokei, 10th grade);
3rd place - Malika Kabykenova (lyceum No. 44 named after Oralhan Bokei, 9th grade);
3rd place - Yerkezhan Khusainova (gymnasium No. 38, 10th grade).
The best young speakers received the diplomas of participants, gifts and souvenirs from the organizer of the Competition - the American corner of the library.
In general, all the contestants who took part in such a difficult competition, not only experienced their skills and acquired skills in the oratory, but also became holders of commemorative certificates.
We thank all the participants, teachers, who prepared the Contest participants, the jury, guests and wholeheartedly congratulate the winners! Let the ability to beautifully, correctly and convincingly present your thoughts will become a permanent visiting card of our talented contestants!
