Library of America

A series of books "Library of America" ​​- a gift of the US Embassy in Kazakhstan, in recognition of our library to the community in the area of ​​rapprochement between the two nations and cultures. Financial support is provided by the Information Service of the US State Department (March, 2002). 100 great volumes published in English.
The collection includes works of art of the classics of American literature of 18-19 centuries: Henry James, Mark Twain, Jack London, James Fenimore Cooper, and others. In addition, there were well represented famous authors of the 20th century: William Faulkner, Zora Hurston, Joseph Baldwin, Scott Fitzgerald. Also, a volume of poems "American poetry 19th and 20th centuries", collections of dramatic works of Eugene O 'Neil and Tennessee William. Especially valuable collections of given letters, essays, memoirs, political prose, historical sketches of American presidents. It works by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Abraham Lincoln, and others. This collection became the basis of the information resource of the American Cultural Center.
