VostokMedInfo

"VostokMedInfo" - grant of the Institute "Open Society" (October, 2000). Grant obtained through participation in the competition "Matching Funds Grant Programm". The project was created by a local network of five institutions: our library, the regional health department, the Institute of Regional Pathology, Ust-Kamenogorsk College of Medicine and Medical Library.
The project partners came together for the collective use of the resources of national and international information centers of medicine. The project health professionals have been free trainings on computer and Internet literacy. For groups of medical institutions were held information sessions where the participants got acquainted with the project, as well as information resources and library features. The project has attracted new categories of library users has developed partnerships with medical institutions.
Currently, the project is developing steadily. Systematically organized information support of medical organizations and associations, in particular the East Kazakhstan Regional Oncology Center, the family-medical ambulance "Your doctor", Center for Blood Transfusion, occupational pathology clinic and others. On the basis of the library held public lectures to physicians, continues to be free training on Internet . In view of the heavy workload of medical information services are increasingly conducted remotely, organized by the electronic delivery of information from remote databases.
