History catalog online

"Consolidated catalog of local history online" - a project supported by a grant from the Soros Foundation-Kazakhstan (September, 2003). As a result, a new information resource - Union Catalog of regional editions of two major libraries in East Kazakhstan. This is our Library. AS Pushkin (Ust-Kamenogorsk) and Library Abai (Semey). In addition, the staff of the project partners included the East Kazakhstan Librarians Association; Computer center of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty).
Pre-order to unify the bibliographic records for local history sources held a workshop "Consolidated catalog of local lore: standardization and quality of bibliographic records" (January 2004). The structure of the online catalog consists of the following sections:
- "On the catalog" provides general information on the consolidated catalog of local lore.
- "How to use the catalog" provides tips on finding information.
- "Links" contains links to the sites of the Kazakhstan and Russian corporate library catalogs. In our opinion, they will be useful to readers, and librarians - the first will be able to turn to alternative sources of information, and the second - to find a professional materials organizational and methodical nature.
- "Frequently Asked Questions" involves a virtual dialogue between users and librarians. Here, users will be able to receive advisory support to find the right information on the use of electronic document delivery.
- "Library cataloguer". Topic created to accommodate the full texts of materials for professionals catalogers.
