American University in Bulgaria was founded in 1991. The University is a unique cooperative venture established with the support of the US and the Bulgarian government,, the Open Society Institute and the University of Maine. The University provides an opportunity to get first-rate American education style liberal arts, which includes general education and specialization in basic and / or additional specialty: history, journalism and media, European science, literature, as well as computer science, information systems, economics, mathematics and etc.American University in Bulgaria is located in the cozy town of Blagoevgrad in southwestern Bulgaria, 100 kilometers from the capital.
