Internet Hall

The opening of Internet halls in our library was preceded by another project - "E-mail and the Internet" (January 1997, a grant of Soros Foundation-Kazakhstan on connecting libraries to the Internet and email services. In this project we have two computers and a modem). Creating an Internet room was a logical development of the first draft. Grant of Eurasia Foundation for the project Internet Hall (1998) was provided with funds provided by the Agency for International Development of the United States (USAID). The project resulted in an Internet room: 5 workstations, a dedicated line at a speed of 64 kbps. / Sec, printer, copier.

Currently, the project continues to develop successfully. Park rose to 10 computers, appeared scanner, the access speed has increased to 8 Mbit / s. A wider range of services. In addition to Internet access, a thematic search on the Web and e-mail, new services: electronic delivery of documents, information and training seminars, the point of public access to official sites of akims of Ust-Kamenogorsk, East Kazakhstan region, the country's government.
On the basis of Internet-room trainings on basic computer skills and the Internet, as well as specialized thematic seminars for different target groups: civil servants, lawyers, doctors, teachers, and other extras.
